Two weeks ago my family and I spend our vacation in Ixtapa and
Zihuatanejo; there is no words to describe how beautiful and
breathtaking is your area. Regards... Jose Gracia

In my dreams I live in Ixtapa and wander the beaches endlessly letting
my feet sink into the soft sand and feeling the waves gently caress my
toes. It is a dream place where the people are the most friendly and
wonderful and helpful without wanting anything in return. It is a clean
place, where the cliffs and sunsets work together as a team to make the
landscapes meld into one and you feel like you are in are in piece of
precious artwork. I have been many places in my life and most fortunate
to be able to visit Ixtapa thank you for your hospitality and relaxing
place... Marlene & Lorne (Montreal, Quebec,
Canada) |
I was there during Holly Week. The place is beautiful, with ideal temperature, there is always sun and the sunsets are the most
marvelous I have seen. People is very friendly. Zihuatanejo is a town with a lot of charm. I want to advice you of a certain all inclusive hotel with less than five stars (it should have two). The water does not seem purified, the rooms are not clean and the towels are in bad shape. The price in pesos is high for the service they offer. Research before you pick the hotel. I will come back to Ixtapa, even though it takes 13 hours flying from here but I will be more careful in choosing my lodging. Sara from Spain...

My husband is from Mexico City, but has resided in the United States for 33 yrs now. He and I
were married just 7 yrs ago. Before meeting Carlos, I had never traveled anywhere before. In the
last 7 yrs, we have been to Mexico 9 times. Five of those times have been in Ixtapa, and that is
my favorite place. It is sooooo beautiful! The people are so friendly, and when I am trying my
best to speak the language, everyone is so patient and helpful. The beaches are beautiful, and
the city is very interesting. I love Zihua! I brought my 11 yr old grandson this last time, and
he was so amazed. He wants to move there! I will continue to learn the beautiful
Spanish language, and hope soon to be able to spend our winters in Ixtapa. It's just too cold here in
Minnesota!... Eileen & Carlos Espinosa (Minnesota, USA) |
We just got back from Ixtapa for the third year in a row. Beautiful again! The sunsets on the
beach are breathtaking and the best in Ixtapa! We love the Hotel <omitted>. Everyone is so
friendly and nice. Thank you!... Carol Nicolai (Wisconsin, USA) |
My husband and I stayed at the <omitted> hotel in Ixtapa. We enjoyed the all inclusive package.
Very nice and helpful staff. Rooms were always clean. Airport and hotel is full of time share
employees that are very "tricky" in committing you to hear their "deal". Make sure you have your
transportation vouchers from your travel agency before you go if its a part of your plan;
otherwise you pay full rate on taxis. Bug spray needed at night if your by the water. Visit the
vendor shops on Playa Linda at the beach, they have the best deals... Jackie Kelso (Denver,
CO, USA) |
My wife and I have traveled to various resort areas of Mexico for the past 10 years and last year
made our first visit to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. We were so impressed with the people and the town of
Zihua (as we affectionately call it) that we made our reservations for next month prior to
leaving. We can't wait until February/March to enjoy the weather, hospitality and great food. The
uniqueness of Zihua with its cleanliness, architecture and small town hospitality hopefully will
be preserved for years to come... Bruce & Mary Bradt (Alberta, Canada) |
I have been in Ixtapa twice and it has a permanent place in my hearth, the sunsets, the beaches,
its people. I have traveled half way around the world but I have never found a place like Ixtapa.
Congratulations, I'll see you soon... Jose Alonso (Oviedo, Asturias, Spain) |
I visited Ixtapa this last August and I had a wonderful time. I'm planning to go back this summer again. I loved it, it was so much fun...
Barbara Martinez (USA) |
We have been visiting Ixtapa on our Spring vacations since 1987. We have traveled to many destinations in Mexico and always seem to return to Ixtapa! We find the beaches, weather,
accommodations and people to be best anywhere we have gone. Whether strolling down the white sand beaches, shopping, snorkeling, sampling all the delightful cuisine, Ixtapa has it all...We love it there and will be visiting again in just one week! If your looking for a delightful experience, without the huge crowds, this is the place!...
Jack & Beth Achter (Fergus Falls, Mn., USA) |
My husband and I are leaving for Ixtapa on March 6th for 2 weeks. This is my 5th time to Ixtapa and it's my husband's second time. This is the BEST place in Mexico. Clean, friendly, great food, great weather!. If you've been to Ixtapa once, you are sure to return to Paradise...
Leslie & Bill Worthington (Winnipeg,

It is a place highly recommended to go by yourself or with the family, the local people is great and the area its beautiful. For the fishing funs
like me you have lots of choices (trolling, spinning, deep sea, fly, etc.). It was a trip worthwhile
even coming from Spain... Oscar Pinedo (Spain) |
I have been to Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa several times. Stayed at Zihuatanejo and at a resort in Ixtapa another
time. We love Z and are going back in February, can't wait!... Anonymous

My wife and I have been coming down every winter for ten years. We will arrive on January 28 and again be staying for two weeks. We do a charter vacations route and they do a good job. We just love old Mexico and the people are just great and I hope the area does not really change. We presently have one foot of snow and ten below zero. Looking forward to the change this week...

I have been in Ixtapa in June for the last 8 years with my husband. I dream that I can make it with my children some day, we usually take a Taxi to Zihua and then walk, see its typical stores and have a cup of coffee, walk through its hotels area, boutiques, see its people and your great hotels. Bravo for Mexico, having places like your should make us proud. See you
soon Zihua... Juan & Lupita Ortega (Mexico) |

Dear Edison: Here we are, in cold, dreary St. Louis...and we miss Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo already! It
was snowing the day after we returned home, and the rush of life in the city has taken over. But
my heart is still on the beach... Our wedding was wonderful, we had the best weather imaginable,
and we were blessed with the most gorgeous sunset I have ever seen! The staff at the hotel and
restaurant, as well as our photographer (a local one), gave us all unforgettable memories to
cherish forever. While we were there, our group had great service, fun, and delicious food at all
the places we visited. All of our friends/family are planning return visits on their own, as soon
as possible! Best Regards... Dee Boyd Foster (St.
Louis, Mo., USA) |
I came to Ixtapa for three days in the month of October. I was sent there by my job to evaluate different hotels that we are selling to Canadians. I must say that I was very impressed with the beaches and the super clean streets!. I would have never expected the place to be so modern!. I really
appreciated the warm feeling you get from the locals who do not pretend do be someone they are not!. I have made a few friends (can you believe in only three days). I fell in love with the people and the place its self. I will make sure that I do return to Ixtapa shortly, this time for a vacation and not just for three days!...
Mandie Ross (Montreal, Canada) |
I have been to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo our "Sister City" twice this year and I loved every minute of it. I first visited in April 2004 when we donated a Fire Truck and two Ambulances to your wonderful city. I loved it so much that I returned with my family and 18 other firefighters in August. We have already made our reservations to return next year. Your people our wonderful the service is incredible. Thank You!...
Ignacio Otero (Palm Desert, Ca., USA) |
I want to thank all the people in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo for their warm welcome. I was a real pleasure to go there, also the neat service in the restaurants, discos and everywhere was superb. Congratulations for having clean cities and beaches. Beautiful beaches. Feel proud to be receiving a big congratulation from a fellow countryman. My best regards to everyone in Zihuatanejo, it is the best option for a vacation...
Mario Diaz (Tlanepantla, Edo.Mex., Mexico) |
I can't wait to get to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo in November! Several friends/family are joining us for a week, for our wedding and vacation, and we are just thrilled. I miss the place, the beaches, the food, the fun! Mostly, I can't wait for my fiancé' to fall in love with "paradise," also!. Until then, best regards!...

Love coming to Ixtapa, It's such a wonderful town and the people could not be nicer. We have returned 6 times. We have been blessed with becoming great friends with the locals. I doubt we will travel any where else. Ixtapa is our next home. Thank you for all the great memories...

Spent only a week, this past January-04 What a beautiful place to
relax, and enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches, and meet wonderful people from all over the world. The weather was perfectly sunny and the days were long. Stayed at the very comfortable hotel. The people were
extremely friendly and the food was very good... Bruce,

On February we will arrive in Zihuatanejo or "Z" as we call it, for the 22nd straight year. We spend about 16-18 days every year in what we call our home away from home. We have made many friends from all over the world over the years. We have been at many beach resorts in Mexico and elsewhere and as far as we're concerned there isn't any other beach that compares...

I had the pleasure to visit Ixtapa when I got married. I loved it. It is
marvelous place. It is one the most beautiful places in Mexico, ideal for a honeymoon...

Hi. We had a wonderful time and really hated to leave. Your site was very helpful when we planned our trip since we had not been there for several years. We had wonderful meals while there. We took the boat out to the Island of Ixtapa and sat under a
"palapa" watching people swimming and snorkeling. We had a lunch of fresh fish prepared with butter and garlic served to us while we were enjoying the ocean breeze and beautiful view, that was so good we will have to return soon just to taste it. We rented a car while there and really enjoyed the freedom to see some things we had never seen before. Thanks again for such a great
website... Cyndi & Richard (Houston, Tx.,

I was in your town in January 2003. I visited your beaches and I remember them very nicely. I stayed with a family and I had the opportunity to meet many locals. They are very friendly and outspoken. Best regards from Spain...

We had a fantastic time in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. The hotel amenities and staff were exceptional. We enjoyed snorkeling at Ixtapa Island and Playa
Manzanillo. We look forward to our next visit. "Hasta Luego"...

Just returned from Ixtapa 6 hours ago, and already I'm planning my trip back in the fall. Had a fantastic time. Can't wait to go
again. One suggestion: don't do "all-inclusive" the food in the local
restaurants is much better and cheap. See you all in the fall. Thanks for the trip of a
lifetime... Chantelle Marchand (Edmonton, Alb.,
Canada) |
Hello: I have visited your beautiful areas of Ixtapa-Zihua in the past on several trips.
It is one of the most wonderful and calming vacation sites in the world. The people are very friendly
and helpful to tourists, and make you feel "at home". Sincerely...
Karen Hess (Chicago, Ill., USA) |
I just spent a week in and let me tell you something: The hotel I
stayed give Ixtapa such a good reputation!. Everyone that works there is so nice, friendly and wanting to help out in any way they can.
The food was great, the activities were lots of fun and Ixtapa being such a safe place, we easily went out across the street
for more fun. Even at the "Mercado" the people were nice and not on our case to buy all the time.
Until I come again to visit, I will keep a great souvenir of Ixtapa in my heart and on pictures and
I also found a way to describe Ixtapa: "En Ixtapa la vida es un carnaval"
(in Ixtapa life is a carnival, just like that wonderful song by Celia Cruz)...
Manon (Quebec, Canada) |
Just got back from Ixtapa, it was great. The hotel was beautiful,
service was great, food was great everywhere we ate. Ixtapa island is definitely
a must see spot. Zihua was busy, but shops are well worth the trip. Sunset cruise was the best tour for the money, we liked it most of all.
We will be back as soon as we can afford to...
Mike & Lisa Crum (USA) |
We just returned to Oregon from Zihua. This was our fifth consecutive year we've vacationed there and WE SHALL RETURN! It is even better that your website
shows and it's a great website. Thank you!... Brian

Have been to many Mexico resort destinations. Our 3rd time to Zihua/Ixtapa.
Love the people, beaches, food, mountains; I am in Travel business,
love to sit on the beach at midnite, watch the stars, hear the pounding of the
surf. Love the sunset cruise and see the town of zihwat all lit up at night while sitting in the
bay. Explore zihwat beaches. I am hooked. 32 yrs married. Makes us happy
here :). Be back in March. See you soon. "TE AMO"...

WOW Who would have thought just 5 1/2 hours from my home was such a paradise. We visited Ixtapa from Jan. 2-9th and this was our first taste of Mexico, it was absolutely
everything I had dreamed it would be. Warm beaches, no malls, and friendly people. Thank you for making my holiday a
holiday I will remember. We hope to come back next year for 2 weeks. You should be very proud of your holiday destination it is
spectacular... The Witala Family (Port Coquitlan,
Canada) |
My husband and I went to Ixtapa in 1995. We loved it! For the past seven years we have been vacationing at different
Islands, always comparing them to Ixtapa and they never quite measure up. We have recommended Ixtapa to many of our friends over the years and they have returned repeatedly. This March we will finally be returning with four other couples. We have decided to search no further for the perfect vacation
paradise!... Connie King (Ontario, Canada) |
We have been to Mexico in different places for the last ten years. This year we are returning again with 7 other couples to
Ixtapa in January. We were there last year and enjoyed it a lot. We are hoping that everyone else loves it as much as us and
plans to return again next year... Donna Ferg (Wisconsin,
USA) |
We have been to Ixtapa 5 times and will make it 6 next year. We stayed
for two weeks last year and didn't know if it would be too long but at
the end of one week we were happy that we were not leaving for home
yet. There are so many wonderful restaurants that every time we try
new places and are never disappointed. Everything is so convenient and
within walking distance. People are friendly and very helpful. Ixtapa
is my home away from home. My dream is to spend the winter months in
Ixtapa every year... Rick & Sue Beckerleg (Garden
City, Mich., USA) |
This will be our 12th year in Ixtapa!. People say to us "why
don't you go somewhere else in the world?" We say, why not go
back every year in January to see our "friends and family?"
We have truly bonded with our friends in Ixtapa and cannot fathom
going anywhere else in the world. Our paradise, THEIR paradise. They
have made us feel welcome each year, they ARE our family. Hope to see
you there... Linda & Kurt, Mike & Sophie

It is a true paradise, I have gone to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo more than 4

place in the world; in fact, I will be coming to live there very soon...

We spent Christmas in Ixtapa five years ago and are finally coming
back in 2003. We found Ixtapa beautiful, clean and people charming and
friendly. Next holiday we will stay for two weeks and can't wait to
discover Zihuatanejo. "Adios Amigo"... Laurie

Ixtapa was everything you said it would be (in your site) and more.
The hotel was outstanding, the staff was genuine in their warmth and
the beach, the most beautiful I've ever seen. We will return at our
very next opportunity. The pictures (in your site) don't do justice...
Carolyn & Robert Barkley (USA) |
I have been to the Dominican Republic, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and
Ixtapa. My wife and I will be returning to Ixtapa again this year. To
us, it is a paradise. We love the warm hospitality, the tolerance of
our poor Spanish skills, the wonderful beaches, the dancing and night
life and most of all, the relaxation it affords us. We enjoy going to
Zihuatanejo and bumming around as well. We intent to make Ixtapa our
destination every winter... Mike & Kayleen
