Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is located southwest of Mexico City in the
coastline of the State of Guerrero, in the area know as The Golden Pacific
which is part of the Mexican Riviera.

|
If you'll like to know the exact location of our little paradise on earth... it is 101.33
degrees West (meridian) and 17.38 degrees North (parallel). |
We are on Mexico's Coastal-Highway MEX-200, at 250 kms. (156 miles) north of Acapulco and
115 kms. (72 miles) south of Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan. It is only a 35 minutes plane
ride from Mexico City.

In regard to
the clock, Mexico has 3 time zones. Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is located in the Central Time (CST) zone which it's minus 6 hours from GMT -
Greenwich Meridian Time. We go into Horario de Verano (Daylight Saving
Time - CDT) during
the summer months, from the first Sunday in April to
the last Sunday in October (so we will be minus 5 hrs. GMT during this period).
Northwest Mexico is on Mountain Time (States of Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa,
Nayarit and Baja California Sur). Baja California Norte is the only state on
Pacific Time.
We have the same time as Mexico City.
In Mexico most boards, brochures, information signs, etc. that refers to
schedules for services (flight times, bus run hours, cinema show hours,
etc.) are posted based on a 24 hours clock or also known as "Military
Time". So 13:00 means 1:00 p.m., 14:00 means 2:00 p.m., etc.
Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa are 6 kms. (4 miles) apart from each other connected by a
four lanes freeway that extends all the way up to the international airport.

We
enjoy a semi-tropical climate year around with an average of 300 sunny days a year and
temperatures ranging from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius (73-93 Fahrenheit.).
Our rainy season goes from late June through September or sometimes to middle
October
with precipitation usually in the evenings or nights, which still gives you many sunny
hours per day to spend on the beach and outdoors. At this time of the year the
countryside and the mountains turn brilliantly green with multicolored blossoms of trees
and flowers. A few months after the rainy season vegetation turns gradually brown until
the rainy season begins again.

In Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, casual and beachwear clothing is
recommended for year round.
A light sweater for nights is recommended if planning to dine outside near the
beach from November to April. After sundown the wind-chill factor will go
down due to the sea breeze.
