On March 17th, 2016 VOLARIS (Airline) will begin operations to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo from Mexico City.
On October 25th at 2:00am Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo returned to the Central Standard Time (CST) so clocks were set back one hour.
The passage of hurricane "Patricia" for our area on October 22nd and 23rd brought moderate to heavy rains with mild winds. Although there was flooding in some low areas no damages were reported.
On October 7th the Zihuatanejo Pier has been closed due to structural damages. Temporarily they have opened an area for embarking and disembarking to Las Gatas beach and for fishing trips. It is not known yet when the repairs will begin or if a new dock will be constructed.


According to the Press Bulletin 1072 of our Convention & Visitors Bureau, on June 2015 our resort has been Certified as "Specialized Resort To Serve The LGBT Market" (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender)
On February 26th TAR AEROLINEAS (Airline) began a new flight from Los Mochis to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo with one stop in Guadalajara. Link in "Transportation to Town"
On July 14th, 2014 TAR AEROLINEAS (Airline) began a new non-stop flight to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo from the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. Also, one stop flights from the cities of Durango and Monterrey. Link in "Transportation to Town"
